Books I Recommend If You Are Just Starting Out

Every now and then I receive emails asking me to recommend a few books for someone who is just starting out in studying the markets.

If you look to the right you will see 6 books which I actually own and recommend for anyone who wants to get pointed in the right direction. Of course these are my personal favorites and I'm sure some people may disagree with my selection, but these books have been around for awhile and have stood the test of time in my opinion and in the opinion of many others.

John Murphy's book "Technical Analysis Of The Financial Markets" I consider to be the bible on technical analysis because it will introduce you to just about every technical method that is worth trading. What I like about this book is that after reading it, you will decide what tools or methods make sense to you and you will begin to develop your own style of trading. If I could own only one book, this would be the book.

I actually know of 5 additional books that are very good for traders starting out but I wanted to keep the list short so I just mentioned 6 books.. Martin Pring's books are excellent.
