Which Groups Are Being Bought?

It's always a good idea to keep track of where money is moving into and flowing out of. Over the last 4 weeks the S&P has been in a trading range although it now appears to be moving higher. Within this time period there have been a few groups that are making very nice moves to the upside. Looking at the above chart we can clearly see money is moving into the Home builders, Steel stocks and the Reits.
The Reits have been up 17 out of the past 20 trading sessions.

Which Groups Are Being Sold?

Over the last 4 weeks while the S&P has been moving a little higher, there are some groups that have not been participating in this rally with the S&P. As you can see in the above chart, money has been leaving the Semiconductors, the Networkers and the Airlines.

How is the best method to track this? I use TC2000 which has a massive amount of data but not easy to break down. The charts you posted - where are they from?

jeff :
These charts are the daily charts of the respective indexes.

I use Etrade and their charting software allows me to display these charts. You should be able to see them for free in www.bigcharts.com also.

Hi Jeff,
I use StockCharts.com..They have something called market carpets which helps you see the big picture. I actually had to input the groups that I follow and then StockCharts.com will sort them out for me.

Interesting analysis Kevin, I shall be looking for some bullish diagonal or bullish credit spreads to open based on what you have shared,

Cheers and profitable trading,
