Market Summary

The past few days the market has been quiet ahead of tomorrow's two-day FOMC meeting. The Fed is expected to leave the fed funds rate unchanged at 5.25%, but what isn't so certain is what the accompanying policy directive will imply about future rate decisions.

Tomorrow morning before the Fed meets we will have an advance read on Q4 GDP and the Employment Cost Index at 8:30 ET. Chicago PMI is scheduled for release at 9:45 ET while Construction Spending should hit the wires soon after (10:00 ET).

Some stocks reporting earnings tomorrow in the Dow are Altria (MO) and Boeing (BA). Other S&P 500 stocks reporting before the bell include Constellation Energy (CEG), Dominion (D), Eastman Kodak (EK), Eli Lilly (LLY), Hess (HES), Hilton Hotels (HLT), Ingersoll-Rand (IR), Kraft Foods (KFT), Public Service (PEG), and Time Warner (TWX).

After the close we have Google (GOOG), EOG Resources (EOG), Fiserv (FISV), Gilead Sciences (GILD), Pulte Homes (PHM), Starbucks (SBUX), and Sunoco (SUN).
