First 5 Days In The Dow Are Down

The Dow Jones Industrial average closed down 45 points from the beginning of the year. If you believe the statistics, the Dow has only a 49% chance of closing higher for the year. For the past 110 years, if the Dow closed higher for the first 5 days of the new year, the market had a 73% chance of closing higher for the year. So I guess this means no rally in 2007. Actually for a more accurate forecast we need to wait and see which football team wins this years superbowl!
